Rhodri is the Project Manager for the ACTION project and is based at the Carmarthen campus of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
Rhodri was involved in the initial development of the ACTION project and the project design was based on his observation that an effective way to develop the social enterprise sector would be to harness the imagination, dynamism and relentless desire to maximise the social dividend of their organisation which social entrepreneurs possess, through the ‘social franchise’ concept.
Rhodri is experienced in working with the third sector through his previous role in a county voluntary council specialising in procurement and commissioning and he has a varied background of work in higher education and the private sector. Social Enterprise is a particular passion for Rhodri and he’s keen to work with any groups in the county who have a social enterprise concept which they’re keen to replicate.
Laura is the Project Officer for the ACTION Project and is based with the Project Manager at the Carmarthen Campus of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
Laura has experience working within the voluntary sector for over 4 years, developing and honing skills in community participation, grant applications and community group development. In 2008 Laura decided to complement practical skills with academic skills and enrolled on a Community Development Degree, based at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, a degree which Laura is currently in the process of completing. Laura moved to work for the University on the Welsh Assembly Dynamo project in 2008, working with both students and staff on Enterprise Education.
Laura has taken advantage of volunteering opportunities offered by the course, partaking in an ecological project in Mexico and working in a RAPID area in Dublin, contributing to the community safety strategy.
